I saw "Iron Lung" by Markiplier! Firstly, even if you disliked it, it's definitely just as good as any other Hollywood movie. I watched the full credits and was shocked at how short it was. Super impressed by the visuals, the acting and the music/sfx. Apparently it also broke the world record for the most fake blood ever used LOL. I really wish I looked up the game's premise and some of the lore before I watched it. A few things were touched on but not a lot was explained. Apparently, the game didn't do a great job of explaining things either and left a lot of things up to our imagination. Regardless, it would've been nice to know what the hell they're talking about when they mention a few things with no elaboration. I was told that I could go in blind but I disagree! I think a quick wikipedia read would be beneficial for others.

Besides that, it was excellent. Markiplier's acting was great, the atmosphere and overall mood was captivating. I've heard others call this movie "slow" and although I do agree, I enjoyed how slow-paced it was. It's not necessary to have a jumpscare every 14 seconds in a movie. A lot of the fear and suspense was from the overall mystery and not knowing what's going on or what the strange noises are or what's going to happen. Just BEING in the iron lung is already scary and the conditions just get worse and worse. Very suspenseful.

I give it a solid 8/10 which is pretty phenomenal for an indie movie. I mean, that's way better than the average Hollywood movie I've seen in recent years. I hope this encourages others to take a stab at making a film. Maybe we're entering a new era of Youtubers making films. Maybe we'll see other indie horror games become adapted too. If so, I really, really hope SOMA becomes a movie one day. If you haven't played the game or watched a let's play, and you enjoyed Iron Lung, I really recommend it! Till next time o7
